An internship at The Insiders Fund is a tremendous learning experience.
I would like to express my most sincere gratitude to Harvey Sax, the portfolio manager of The Insiders Fund, for the opportunity he gave me to intern as a hedge fund analyst. The experience at The Insiders Fund became a great foundation to my career. Over his shoulder, I was able to learn the critical financial skills and qualities of a finance professional. Harvey always valued my opinion, trusted my work, and gave me challenging tasks, so that I can learn, progress and excel. Working with such an experienced professional was absolutely invaluable.
Andrew Jeong, Brigham Young University – 2018
The time I spent as an analyst intern with The Insiders Fund was truly rewarding. The opportunity to work directly with the portfolio manager, Harvey Sax, was unique and priceless. I learned everything from financial modeling to fundamental and technical analysis of individual securities. I use the same skills I learned at this internship in my daily work as an analyst with a $2 billion permanent trust fund. The opportunities and foundational knowledge provided through this internship have been critical to the development of my professional career in finance.
This internship is truly unrivaled.
Ryan Kulig Analyst Intern — 2013
During my summer internship with The Insiders Fund, I had the pleasure of working first hand with harvey and his colleagues. The amount of real work experience and knowledge that I gained while at the firm was more valuable than any other work experience I have had thus far. I was engaged in tasks that directly benefited the firm that, at the same time, added to my understanding of financial markets as a whole. Every day, I had the opportunity to examine the inner working of a successful hedge fund and learn by being placed in the center of all the action. Never did Harvey or any of his colleagues have trouble elaborating on subjects that I didn’t quite understand or going out of their way to get me as involved as possible in the day to day agenda. With a virtual trading account provided, I was also able to simulate trades across all markets and learn for myself what it takes to be successful in this industry. The skills attained during my internship not only led me to create my own company but will no doubt also lead me towards an advantageous future in the financial industry. I cannot express enough my gratitude for being granted this internship opportunity.
Maxwell Hugh Leary, BBA Financial Services & Investment Banking — Hong Kong Polytechnic University
When graduating, it has become crucial to have acquired some relevant experience during college to get a desirable job. This past summer I had the pleasure of working alongside some very knowledgeable gentlemen at The Insiders Fund. I was fortunate enough to work side by side with the fund manager; Harvey Sax, and was given a multitude of opportunities to add value to operations while learning an immense amount. After returning to school, I can confidently say that this internship has given me a tremendous leg up on my classmates at the University of Utah. I want to thank Harvey and team for their support. They provide an open environment with tremendous freedom to explore finance while helping every step of the way. Interning for The Insiders Fund is probably the most important thing that I have done for my career path to date, and I cannot thank them enough.
