Appropriately enough, Vail Resorts Inc. MTN +0.57% s share-price chart resembles a mountain range.The ski-resort operators shares have been an exaggerated version of the S&P 500: They rose by 480% in the four-and-a-half years leading up to the 2007 market peak before shedding three-quarters of their value. They bottomed on the same day as the broad market in 2009, and have since climbed 400%.
